- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2012The cover is excellent quality with superb stitching.
The keyboard is detachable as it is held on by magnets.
If I was to criticise the product at all it would be that the instructions were for the apple tablet rather than the Google Nexus which it was advertised and purchased for. Not a big problem at all.
Something about the product confused me at first in that when I folded the keyboard behind the Nexus it turned the tablet off. This was rectified easily when I found the keyboard just lifted off from the cover.
Still a 5 out of 5 product for the price.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2013At this price it has proven a very good value purchase. The case works well with the magnetic on/off function, and the keyboard is very easy to remove when not required and to replace when tidying away. The Bluetooth keyboard is very easy to set up and on the whole works well. As other revues have pointed out, the case quality is not brilliant and the keyboard keys can be a little sticky. In my case only the Tab key is a problem, and I hardly use that anyway. Provision for a stylus pen at the side is very useful, and allows me to carry the whole "kit and caboodle" in one package.
To summarise, I have been using this product for 3 months now, and am well pleased with it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2012I bought this cover/case only for the keyboard because I already own another poetic case which is brilliant in terms of smart looks and functionality while this cover looks cheap and lacks style.
Now the keyboard review, setting up the keyboard connectivity and pairing it with the N7 is very straight forward and no hassle there, I have only two issues with it:
First; keys can be sticky sometimes and I discover that some words have letters repeated several tiiimess, and space is lower than the leather just below it which is annoying because it won't let you press it easily and if you focus and pres the space using any finger other than you thumb you'll soon realise that not all presses registerandyouendup with jumbled words, which brings me to the second issue
Second: this is not a poetic problem rather than a Google/Android issue, if you are using a Bluetooth keyboard the autocorrect function stops working so all my mistakes from my first issue will not be autocorrected which is a pain in the neck and then I have to touch the word on the screen and choose the correct and choose the correct word which is not why I am using a physical keyboard, if I'm typing I don't want to touch the screen with every wrong word and because if First issue you got a lot of them already.
But over all and for the price offered it is an OK product.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 October 2012Pleasantly surprised with the Poetic Keyboard case, My Nexus 7 fits Snugly, the keyboard took seconds to pair with the Nexus and works well. The case is well made too....The PU Leather does emit a rather strong chemical smell when released from it,s Cellophane wrapper....but that seemed to disappear after 24 hours. All in all....at only £19.95, can easily be described as a bargain. Mine arrived minus the user manual, but after sending an Email to the seller, I received a reply almost immediately, with an attached PDF user manual file.....Impressive customer support. Conclusion.....RECOMMENDED.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 March 2013So, this was supposed to the opening piece of a very well thought out and well planned Mother's day. Everything seemed to be fine as the item arrived promptly (Early Feb) and looked to be as described although the packaging looked like a cheap ebay version.
Fast forward to March 10th and Mother's day started off promisingly. My fiance was handed a present by our son and was very excited to see that it was in fact the gift that she had been hinting at long and hard since she had received her Google Nexus earlier in the year. So the item was unpacked and left on charge whilst we moved on to the rest of the day. All seemed fine until it came to disconnecting the charging cable. It would seem that due to a poor build quality/design, the connector came out attached to the charging cable.
My partner got quite upset that she thought that she had broken it and this is now compounded by the fact that we cannot return the item as it is outside of the 30 days for returns. I would not recommend this product to anyone unless your hobbies include looking for items that cost £22.95 and will not last as long as something from Poundland.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 December 2012If this is really a £70 reduced to £20 then shame on the vendor. It might just be worth the reduced value. The quality of the case is okay but the keyboard is almost unusable. The use of the space bar is comical with your thumb bring the side then you fail to duke the key properly if at all. The keyboard it's magnetic in its location on the case and sits squint and very quickly falls off. Very poor overall.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 May 2013I would recommend this product very good value for money. Charging is not a problem as is connecting to the nexus. One minor comment is one or two keys sometimes stick but seem to be going away with use and are only the direction keys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent case, awesome keyboard!!!
I don't normally write reviews for products that I purchase on Amazon, but this one is certainly worthy of a review. I will start with the case. It is very well made, and has a leather finish that makes for an attractive case for your Nexus tablet. People have complained that the case appears to be too large for the device, but being someone with large hands I appreciate the extra size. It makes my Nexus so much easier to handle. The device fits securely in the case and provides the user with peace of mind (especially this clumsy user!)
The keyboard is also of exceptional quality, which was a pleasant surprise for such a small price. Yes, the keys are rather small and will take some getting use to. But I am still impressed with the value for my dollar. The keyboard is rechargeable which I greatly appreciate since batteries are so expensive and bad for the environment. The battery life seems very good, and charging time is rather pleasantly short compared to other Bluetooth devices I own.
Overall I highly recommend this product. For the price, you will not find a better case/keyboard combo in my opinion. Thanks to the ,manufacturer for such a great product!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nicely built but difficult to use
I feel bad about giving this little case a poor review, but the truth is I can't really use it. The keyboard has excellent feel and responsiveness, but the keys are just two small for me to type properly. I can type almost as fast on the on-screen keyboard.
In addition, the pop-out tab on the back to hold it up works fine on a desk, but not on my lap which is a frequent need for me.
Using the bluetooth keyboard requires me to hit a key on the keyboard several times to wake it up almost every time I use it. I'm not sure if this the fault of the tablet or the keyboard, but it makes it very painful.
Final note - the holder for the stylus blocks the usb port for charging, so if you have a stylus you can't charge it.
Well built, but not well thought out.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a great bluetooth keyboard and decent case
I have overall mixed feelings about this case. For the price, I think it is a very good keyboard for the Nexus 7, and it's a great way to protect it as well. It simply has a few oddities that make it a decent product rather than one I'd recommend in a heartbeat.
Build quality is fairly good, so no complaints about that. I also like how the keyboard is fastened to the lower half of the case with a magnet. No velcros, tabs, or anything that would wear out. Very well done. It's also a fairly good price overall for a Bluetooth keyboard with its own battery and the added convenience of a Micro USB charging port.
Now,I realized from the pictures that the case seemed a little big for the Nexus 7. Of course, nothing can actually compare to actually having the product in front of you to really notice how bad the size discrepancy is. The side where the tablet goes is about 2 inches bigger than it needs to be. If the keyboard needed that much space I guess I'd understand it, but the keyboard half of the case also has about 2 inches of nothing. I know it's a Bluetooth device, but I own other Bluetooth keyboards that are much smaller than this, which makes me think it doesn't need that much space for its electronics. Basically, first impressions were bewilderment as I suddenly have this oversized case for the Nexus 7. It seems like it was originally built for a much bigger tablet and then repurposed for this one.
There's also the problem with the magnets. So it wakes the Nexus 7 when the case opens and puts it to sleep when the case closes. Cool feature, I enjoy that. Unfortunately, if I am holding the Nexus 7 in portrait orientation (which is uncomfortable due to the size issue as then the left side of the case is empty space) and wrap the keyboard side around, emulating a book, the magnets sometimes interact with the Nexus 7, putting it to sleep. That's a problem, and I'm looking to see if I can deactivate that magnet feature.
Anyway, at the end of the day I am not sure if I like the product or not. I mean, for the price it's not a bad Bluetooth keyboard at all. It also protects my tablet. My plan is to use the case when I'm transporting the tablet to keep it safe. The keyboard will always be used whenever I have need of it, but I don't envision myself actually using the tablet while inside the case. It's just too inconvenient for that kind of scenario. So, once again, I can't really recommend it, but I don't consider it as a bad product either.

4.0 out of 5 stars Product dimensions + review
First, I wanted to list out the dimensions of this product. Before I got my Nexus, I had a Nook Color which I carried around in a small satchel bag that I bought here on Amazon. I wanted to use this keyboard/case in the same bag, but it would have been significantly bigger than my old Nook, and I couldn't find the actual dimensions of this case on Amazon or anywhere else, so here are the dimensions:
Height: 8.5 inches
Length: 6 inches
Width (With tablet and keyboard inside): 1 inch.
For those of you looking to use this case with a non-Nexus tablet, the actual part of the case where the tablet sits is 4.75 inches by 7 inches, so if your tablet is that size or smaller, it can be used with this case. It adds some bulk to the tablet but not unreasonably so. A few of the reviews here made it seem like a drastic transformation in size but it's not too much bigger, and the added benefit of having a keyboard with me all the time makes up for it. With my old Nook Color I had to drag a thin, but otherwise full-size blue tooth keyboard around with me. For what it's worth, the case barely fits into my pre-existing bag.
The rest of the review: The case is sturdy and pleasant to the touch. It fits the tablet and keyboard well. Contrary to the description of the product, there are magnets in the case which are used to hold the keyboard in place. The keyboard is removable for charging; I can also imagine removing the keyboard, then folding the cover of the case backwards for using the tablet in portrait mode without taking it out. The stand on the back is simple and functional. The case itself has holes and open spots in all the right places for a Nexus tablet, leaving the charging port, headphone jack, sleep/wake/volume switches, and the back speaker, uncovered and accessible. The case keeps the tablet snugly in place.
The keyboard itself is small and feels a bit flimsy. Whenever I go to charge it I feel like I might break the keyboard by pushing the charger cord in. As for the size, it's a bit small to use, especially when you have big fingers like I do; however, I don't blame the manufacturer for the smaller keyboard, as it's the only way it could reasonably fit the case without drastically increasing the profile of the tablet. The keys take some getting used to but if you have bad typing habits like me (only using index fingers to type), or if you have smaller fingers, it should be pretty simple to get used to.
The keyboard is responsive, and has a couple of shortcuts designed for android (Function + escape emulates the back button; function + F1 emulates the home button; a couple of the function keys manipulate the volume). No complaints about the keyboard, it paired easily with the tablet and I was able to use it just fine. I did have one small defect with my keyboard: the port where you plug the micro USB cable to charge the keyboard had a little excess plastic from the surrounding case covering it, and I couldn't charge the keyboard until I snapped this plastic off. The charge cable requires a lot of force to get into and out of the port, making me afraid that I might break the keyboard at some point if I'm not careful.
One small personal complaint - I wish that the used a button, magnet, or velcro to stay closed. It uses a strap, which is tucked under another strap, and I find it difficult to pop it open or closed easily.
All in all, while the case isn't perfect, it's a very good value for the money. It' durable, unlikely to damage the tablet, and the keyboard works well, if a little flimsy. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a keybook for a 7-inch tablet.

1.0 out of 5 stars This thing is a piece of garbage
I bought this keyboard for my Nexus 7 At the end of November before my tablet arrived. Since I have had my tablet I have probaly used the keyboard maybe three times or so because intially I didn't use my tablet a lot because I have my laptop. Upon getting ready to charge the keyboard for maybe the third or fourth time, the USB pin has broken and now I can't charge the keybard. I have had this things less than 6 months and used it less than 6 times and its broken. The the leather shiny case is nice to hold your tablet but the keyboard is garbage. Don't waste your money.
