OVIVO Film Festival

ovivo film festival

Quick – grab some popcorn! For the next month, OVIVO are offering not only a free mobile phone tariff but also free cinema tickets. Any new customer ordering an OVIVO SIM card will get a free cinema ticket as well.

The offer is running from today until 20 March 2014. Everyone who orders their SIM before then will get a free code for an adult cinema ticket to any UK Cineworld Cinema which is worth £5-£10. You simply need to use this code on a special redemption website and you will be able to make a booking at the Cineworld website for any date within three months.

And if the promise of a free movie isn’t enough to tempt you, remember that OVIVO currently are running their best ever offers. Freedom 0 now comes with 250 minutes, 300 texts and 500 mb of data!

Don’t forget that you also get £3 bonus credit when you port your number across and OVIVO are the only network in the UK offering non-expiring credit for tablets (great for running a 3G wifi hotspot).

You can use your free cinema ticket at any Cineworld Cinema including West End locations but not at 3D, IMAX, D-Box, Alternative Content, Deluxe, VIP and Premieres. The code has no restrictions but obviously you can’t use it for promotions such as Orange Wednesdays or Take2Thursdays.

What’s on at the cinema right now that you’re keen to catch? And what was the last film you saw? Most importantly, how do you take your popcorn – salty or sweet?

#10 Next Generation Gaming Consoles

We’ve been working on a recap of the biggest stories in mobile and tech from last year with our good friend Scottie Ladeaux from The Fortress of Nerditude across the ocean.

Every Thursday we’re going to bring you a new post looking back on our picks from 2013. Today we’re starting things off with the first video in the countdown, #10 looking at the next generation of gaming consoles which are battling it out this year. Scottie guides us through the final presentations from Sony and Microsoft at E3 and tracked the response from gamers across the world.

The PlayStation 4 went on sale on 15 November while the Xbox One hit stores just a week later. It’s early days yet, but both consoles are selling fast with millions of sales globally.

Do you own a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Or are you waiting for more games and a price drop? Which next-gen console do you prefer and why?

Ovivo increases free allowances

ovivo-more-love-dt

We recently wrote about OVIVO Mobile – the only network in the country that gives that’s completely free to use. For the grand total of just £0/month you get an allowance including calls, texts and data with no contract and no minimum top-ups.

But, there’s more good news as we’ve just been able to confirm that all OVIVO Mobile customers are getting a Valentine’s present this February. Customers using the Freedom 0 and Freedom 5 plans have had their monthly allowance bumped up from 200 minutes to 250 minutes!

OVIVO say that existing customers will find this little present on their next renewal day, and new customers will be able to enjoy 250 minutes straight away. Even better, this is a relationship that will last as the change isn’t just to celebrate Valentine’s – it’s a permanent bonus. So you get an extra 50 minutes to talk to your loved ones, and you can use them all year round! In total, that’s 250 minutes in both Freedom 0 and Freedom 5.

Don’t forget that OVIVO also have data-only deals specially designed for tablets. Also, if you find that 250 minutes completely free isn’t enough for you, there are also price plans with even more included for £10-£20.

Regular readers will be aware that the free allowances on OVIVO have ebbed and flowed over the years. But it seems that OVIVO are doing better than ever at the moment and that they are here to stay. They have proven so far that the ad-supported funding model really works and we expect to be able to rely on them to provide this level of free usage indefinitely.

We’ve also finally published our in-depth review of OVIVO’s full service. In it we go over the history behind OVIVO as a network and the expertise behind the company as well as how their SIMs perform in real-world use. We also compare their rates and signal strength with that of the competition. So if you want to know more (or even if you’re an existing customer) please head over to check it out. We’d also love to get your comments and ratings on your experiences with OVIVO.

And in the meantime, don’t forget that there’s still ten days to be in with a change of winning the iPhone 4S in our giveaway. Entering is as simply as clicking a Like button or sending a tweet and you can enter every day until the final winner is drawn. Currently there are only a few entries so you’ve got a really good chance of being the winner!
